Tony and I had an awesome date night on Sunday. First, we went out for a wrap at Nancy’s, which is always a treat. Then we poked around Target a bit to kill some time. We’ve started a tradition of having a McDonald’s ice-cream sundae on the weekend (started as a wedding tradition) so we indulged a bit on one of those. Then we went to the movie. We saw Wall-E at the Muvico Theater in Rosemont. Words can not explain how cool this place is. They have a daycare area for kids, which is nice. They have an over 21 movie theater. We discovered on this trip the “Digital Den” where people can play computer games or rent a Wii controller to play a wii game. Five dollars for 30 minutes of fun. Not bad at all!
Tony and I really enjoyed Wall-E. Although the main characters, Wall-E and Eve are both robots, they definitely have a lot of humanistic qualities about them. If you really like this movie, word to the wise: make sure that you stay to the very end. There is a great deal of epilogue story there that you’ll miss if you leave the theater early. This movie will definitely be one that we’ll add to our collection. Oh, and the short cartoon at the beginning was hysterical!
At the end of our date night, we watched fireworks that were being displayed as the ending to the Harwood Heights “Island in the City” days. We drove around until we found a great spot, and then parked. What a great cap to the evening!
